แต่เดิม ELS เกิดขึ้นเมื่อปี 2530 โดยคุณเอก หรือคุณอุดม เหลาโคตร เป็นผู้บุกเบิกและเปิดร้านจำหน่ายเฉพาะโคมไฟอังกฤษ หลังจากนั้นจึงเปิดทำการร้านค้าที่ตลาดนัดจตุจักร โครงการ 1 ซอย 1 โดยใช้ชื่อว่า ร้านอุดม หรือ Udom Shop โดยนำเข้าโคมไฟจากประเทศอังกฤษอย่างเดียวในระยะแรก แต่เมื่อเปิดมาสักระยะหนึ่ง มีลูกค้าต้องการงานประเภทอื่นหลากหลายมากขึ้น จึงเริ่มนำงานอย่างอื่นเข้ามาเพิ่มเติมภายในร้าน ควบคู่ไปกับการสอนงานให้คุณมีรัก หรือคุณขณัฏฐ์สรณ์ เหลาโคตร ในฐานะน้องสาว ได้รู้จักงานทุกชนิดด้วย โดยคุณเอกได้สอนทุกอย่าง ให้ความรู้ตั้งแต่การเชื่อม การซ่อมงาน การเดินไฟ กระทั่งแยกออกมาเปิดร้านเป็นชื่อ The English And Thai Lamp หรือ ELS ในปัจจุบันที่ถนนเสนานิคม 1 ภายใต้การดำเนินงานของคุณมีรักเอง โดยชื่อ ELS บอกความหมายตรงตัวว่าจำหน่ายโคมไฟจากประเทศอังกฤษ และยังมีงานอย่างอื่นๆที่เพิ่มเติมขึ้นมาด้วย จึงทำให้ร้านมีสินค้าที่หลากหลายมากขึ้น ด้วยสิ่งของที่ทำขึ้นใหม่เพื่อจำหน่ายและส่งออก อย่างเช่นงานทองเหลือง ทองแดง เหล็ก และสเตนเลสที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ และงานนำเข้าจาก ยุโรป อินเดีย อินโดนีเซีย และเนปาล ประเภทของแอนทีคสำหรับตกแต่งบ้าน ทั้ง indoor และ outdoor

Originally, ELS was established in 1987 by Mr. Aek or Mr. Udom Lao-khot who is the pioneered and opened a shop selling only English lamps. After that, he opened a shop at Chatuchak Market, Project 1, Soi 1, under the name Udom Shop, importing lamps from England only at first. But when it opened for a while, customers wanted more types of work, so he started adding other types of work to the shop, along with teaching to Ms. Mee-rak or Ms. Khanatson Lao-khot, her younger sister, to know all kinds of work. Mr. Aek taught everything and gave knowledge from welding, repair work, and wiring until he separated and opened a shop under The name "The English And Thai Lamp" or "ELS", Our Showroom is located on Senanikom 1 Road under the operation of Ms. Mee-rak herself.

The name ELS directly means selling lamps from England. Other types of work were also added, so the shop has a wider variety of products. With newly made items for sale and export, such as unique brass, copper, iron, and stainless steel works, and imported works from Europe, India, Indonesia, and Nepal, antiques for home decoration, both indoor and outdoor.

The English And Thai Lamp sells antique lamps imported from England, India, and Bali. And all kinds of brassware and metal design works, such as antique lamps, both hanging ceiling lamps, wall lamps, table lamps, decorative lights and brass door handles, hangers, curtain rails, fall protection rails, various statues, home decorations, garden decorations and many more.
